This piece was sort of ad lib-- I suppose you could call it therapeutic art; the days have been challenging in many areas, but few things relax me more than just splashing a canvas in star brushes, linear burn and spacey stuff.
Used a lot of oranges and blues.
I also liked the concept that Egriz on Tumblr came up with for the "Create a room for the TARDIS" challenge. egriz.tumblr.com/post/48987786…
egriz: "I’ve always thought that there is a calm place for the Doctor in the TARDIS. He probably couldn’t find it if he tried, but whenever he’s aimlessly wandering the halls fatigued and melancholy, he tends to stumble into it. It is her way of helping, in between companions.
The room appears to be a garden with a personal universe. The planets hang in the air, and if you watch closely, you can see them orbiting. It’s quiet, and lit only by the local sun and the glow of some of the flora.
Though he tried to hide away after the loss of the Ponds, he always seemed to find himself in this room again. It’s never quite the same, but he wouldn’t have it any other way."
I thought it was a very nice concept, and though its not entirely inspired by her original design (I went much too heavy on the space), I liked the idea of a calming, terrace-like environment where the Doctor could just have a silent moment and watch the heavens breathe.
Today will hopefully be update night-- so you should see it on the Tumblrverse soon.
