To me, van Gogh is the finest painter of them all; certainly the most popular great painter of all time: The most beloved; his
command of colour, the most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray,
but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world... no one had ever done it before.
Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind that strange wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world’s
greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived. -- Vincent and the Doctor
This is something I'd like to call The Transformation meme--
I took the concept of 'Hollow Again' --
..and revolved around the phrase I said to myself just a bit ago-- " I want to take this earthly thing and turn it into something Heavenly". It reminded me of Van Gogh, and how he did paint beautiful artworks even when he was in a deep, deep depression.
The original concept was "There Might be a Light"-- but I revolved it to something different later on in the night. I find that the position the Doctor has could be used for both pictures- but also mean and display different emotions. I feel that this one has a bit more hope, as something new is coming to him, rather then the fading away of the original piece. Sorry its not quite something new, just a re-hashing of old art, hehe.
So... yes! Some hidden gems in the stars and things, enjoy the sights. I just wanted to make something sort of beautiful.
